The Sculpture Park
The Waldviertel Art Museum is set in a unique park containing giant sculptures, including the “Pillars of Heaven,” mysterious stone squares, a striking open-air stage and the “Chapel of Our Lady.” In the summertime the park is the scene of numerous events aimed at children, teens and adults. These include guided tours, projects, workshops, creative weeks, and the chance to bake bread in the “Makis/Miró” outdoor oven.
The sculpture park with its multitude of marvels is an outwards extension of the museum interior. The landscape architecture expresses a balance between nature and art. The sculptures act as pillars of heaven, connecting our planet with the cosmos and encompassing a vast temple.
This park has many stories to tell. There is no risk of boredom in a setting like this where your imagination is constantly stimulated. The park is a living organism that makes its guests feel welcome. It is always ready to reveal its secrets – and it has many of them, both small and large. Visitors just keep coming back for more.
